Talk Nerdy to Me: A BYTE OF BURLESQUE (18+)

For the sixth year Talk Nerdy to Me: a Byte of Burlesque returns with a smash, bang! Jumping straight from your favorite comic book, video game or cult classic, TNTM brings you the best of nerdy style burlesque.
Brainy and buxom brunette Sable Switch is bringing back local favorites including her very own troupe BurlEscapades and cohorts from local theater group Romantasy Cabaret. Of course as always TNTM will include surprise guests from galaxies far, far away which will be announced as the show gets closer.

We strongly encourage you to purchase pre-sale tickets once on sale to guarantee seating and for the best view in the house get VIP seating!

The party that Phoenix deserves and the party that Phoenix deserves right now, ‘Blue Ribbon Army Presents: The Dork Knight Rises’ is a party that every geek can enjoy! This comic book universe-themed party will feature two DJs, way more bartenders, a photo booth, and a ton of cool geeks to hang out and make friends with. All proceeds for this event benefit Kids Need to Read, so come have some fun while helping an awesome charity! Cost is $20 to attend. Alcohol is available and we are including more serving stations to improve lines.

Join various author guests and other creators for a glass or two in an informal setting! There will be door prizes, giveaways, and raffles with proceeds going to Kids Need to Read. Anime Anonymous Presents Macho & Karaoke Idol Cafes!

Anime Anonymous and the Macho Men present an afternoon of snacks and entertainment! Inspired by the popular Macho Café in Japan, we aim to bring you the full muscle filled experience. The Macho Men have prepared their whole lives for this day, and are ready to serve up their favorite snacks and sculpted muscles. The Macho Men love interacting with customers and showing off their own unique talents. Come on in, take a break from the convention, and be dazzled by our muscled men in tight fit workout outfits.

Anime Anonymous Karaoke Idols presents an afternoon of snacks and karaoke! This Japanese inspired café has taken the two best things from Akihabara and combined them together, Maid Cafés and Idols! During this café, guests will be served with a smile by the cute Karaoke Idols and crew of Anime Anonymous. The Idols will entertain by performing karaoke songs and dances alongside our guests. Stop in, relax and join us for some café fun with songs and dance.

Cost is $10 pre-registration, $15 at the door including food or $10 at the door without food option.

Dobutsu Lounges: Monster Girl Beach Party & Marvel vs. Capcom (18+)

Dobutsu Lounge kicks off the summer season right with a twist on one of its most popular themes! We bring a little of the beach to the desert with our Monster Girl Swimsuit Beach Party featuring our hostess and hosts in Swimsuits along with their monstrous features. We will run a raffle for exclusive items throughout the night.

The fate of two worlds lies in the hands of Dobutsu Lounge at the Marvel vs. Capcom themed lounge. Test your might with the cast of Marvel vs. Capcom and find out which side is best. We’ll hold raffles for exclusive items throughout the night.

Both events are 18+. Cost is $15.

ZTag League: Zombie Team Elimination

Ready to experience the Hunger Games in real life? Get ready for this fast paced team vs team format of Zombie Laser Tag that will get your adrenaline pumping and neurons buzzing. It’s a true test of teamwork and strategy: eliminate the other team while guaranteeing survival of yours. The mission is simple, yet the strategy is complex: Create more doctors than the opposing team to win, however you will need to sacrifice some players as zombies in order to sabotage your enemies. Balance between safety and fire power is key.

Playing the game requires the purchase of a ZTag game badge.

Once Upon a Murder: Sherlock in Storybrooke

Sherlock has been asked by the Sheriff of Storybrooke to help solve a murder. The Sheriff is convinced Rumpelstiltskin is involved as the crime scene is full of magic, but Sherlock knows it must be the work of Moriarty. Or could it be that Moriarty and Rumpelstiltskin have teamed up? It’s up to you to study the evidence, question the suspects, and help the detectives arrest the real villain. Maybe, just maybe even Moriarty can’t avoid the price of magic.

Join Michael A. Stackpole, Timothy Zahn, Tom Leveen, and others all weekend in our Writing Seminars series where they will share their experiences and expertise on the writing and publishing process! From gathering ideas and world building to a social media crash course for creative people, you’ll walk away with the knowledge you need to get your novel out into the world.

Each workshop is $8 to attend. Limited space available.

Kids Need To Read Charity Poker Tournament (18+)

Presented by Lupine Entertainment, join us for our annual Charity Poker Tournament benefitting Kids Need to Read.

For a $20 donation to Kids Need To Read, you get a seat in a friendly game of NO LIMIT Texas Hold ‘Em. You may even be seated next to one of our SPECIAL GUESTS!

Some of your favorite artists and Phoenix Comicon vendors have generously donated prizes for the event. We will have special events and surprises going on all night long. Don’t worry! If lady luck doesn’t seem to be on your side, extra chips are available with additional donations to KNTR.

Registration opens at 7PM, Fri, May 26th outside of the Hyatt Regency Ballroom CD. Games start at 8PM. This event has limited seating and sells out fast!
